No means no
One of the popular defenses for piracy is that the companies are not making it fair to buy them, and at the same time, digital goods are virtually infinite after their creation. Stuff like movies and software.
But another way to look at it is that some things are just not for sale. If I have a journal, I am not letting you read it even though it costs me nothing (assuming there isn't anything incriminating in my journal).
I'm not advocating for anything. People do what they want, and I don't have a problem. I just lean more on the latter, and I haven't heard of this perspective in this context before.
